Announcements rick announced the meeting tomorrow night and thanked those that helped out with the Butte Fire nets Greg -kg6sjt, Lu -w6kjx, Bill-k6bil he also thanked those of us that were prepared to take assignments but the nets were closed prior to setting up that schedule.
Kg6sjt made the following -thanks to those who helped on the Butte fire. It was closed down for our part as of 0600 9/14. It had been open 24 hrs/day using 20 operators logging 120 hrs net time and 240 hrs operator times. Greg thanked our EC Rick for standing shifts as net control and for volunteering to transport animals out of harms wY too. Ron Murdock the section EC was contacted by ARRL PR staff in regards to the fires out here and has posted a link on their site. Greg also placed a link on Sacvalleyares.org.
Bill, k6bil wanted to say a special thanks to the massive effort put out by PG&E crews to restore the power to many areas in the fires path. He also said that the Rancheria Casino Services provided to the hundreds of folks displaced by this fire were awsome.
Bill also wanted to remind us all that in theses situations there is generally
"No Service, No information, No cell phones, and no internet." Thanks to Ham radio there was communications!
