KG6SJT, Greg: At eh ARES meeting last Tuesday, Rick, N6KLB, presented RMS Express- a way to use ham radio to send email via radio. It was as easy as he said it would be to set up! I had it up and running in one evening. Very cool!

------ Note from Greg KG6SJT ---------
Note: There was a discussion after the message about adding the prolog item names when sending the message. Such as should we say:
Number, Precedence, From, Check, Place, Time, Date
To, Position
From, Position
The question was asked- Should we say the titles?
WE didn't do this on the NTS form, but, KG6SJT did voice most of the heading titles this evening.
A few members mentioned that they liked that as they were copying the message on plain paper. So, this is something we should discuss at the next meeting.
All in all, at least for me, KG6SJT, it seems fine to say them as they take very little time as we are not sending lots of messages at this time, and it helps people who don't have the form in front of them as they copy the message. This is especially true on simplex like were were tonight.
If you have been writing and copying messages from Yolo Ares, there is a good chance you have copied a few hundred messages- if so, the addition of the prolog items title is no big deal. Ut if you are new to copying, I can see how this can help give you a frame work to help copy the message.
What are you thoughts?
