BARK VE Test Session
top The Berryessa Amateur Radio Club- BARK, sponsored an FCC license examination on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Red Cross Chapter in Woodland. This event was supported through efforts and support of the Yolo County Amateur Radio Emergency Services group - ARES, as well as the Yolo County Amateur Radio Society - YARS.
Congratulations to the 7 new Techs and 2 upgraded generals!

UC Davis Operators Training Class II - Message Handling
On Wednesday, September 23, 2009: KI6PFR, WA6TQJ, K6HEW, K6WLS, and KG6SJT presented a class on ICS-213 message handling.
Class slides, handouts, and audio recording of some messages are available for download.    9/24/2009


CERT Response Exercise 2009 - October 10, 2009
Response Exercise 2009 at the Elk Grove Regional Park, will provide CERT members the option to choose one of four participant levels - First Responder, Radio Operator, EOC Staff, and Observer. Participants choosing the first responder role will complete three full-scale scenarios over a four hour period.
NOTE: Participants choosing the Radio Operator option will be assigned to function as communicator for one of the three teams (12), one of the on-scene public safety Branch Directors (3), or at the incident base in either the Incident Command Post (2) or the Communications trailer (3). Radio Operators should be licensed to operate amateur radios.

Points Of Dispensing Training (POD)
With the current outbreak of swine flu, this training could become important.

There are three Points Of Dispensing Training on-line classes:


Points of Dispensing are locations throughout the County which could be used to distribute medications in the event of a health emergency. The Yolo County Health Department has developed this series of free online classes to teach volunteers how to assist in POD functions.    4/26/2009
