RADIO STATION AT RED CROSS OFFICE
Will Chinn, Emergency Services Coordinator for Red Cross for Yolo and Sacramento Counties, sent message that the keys to the Red Cross office will now also open the door to the radio room upstairs.

EVENTS

The 2011 Princess Promenade Fitness Festival in Sacramento, along the American River Bike Trail, is October 2nd.

ARES RADIO ROOM AT RED CROSS OFFICE
Discussed plans for working on the radio room upstairs at the Red Cross office. Packet station and/or WinLink are being considered as additions. Greg (KG6SJT) will explore getting a call sign for Yolo ARES. Rick (N6KLB) offered to donate a laptop that can be used as a message server for the radio room.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
Greg (KG6SJT) conducted an excellent demonstration of Outpost Packet Messaging, including a description of the equipment required. Packet can be an ideal program for emergency shelter situations.

NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of Yolo ARES will be October 18th at the Red Cross office at 120 Court Street, Woodland. Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
